The End of Liberty War Eternal Book 2 eBook MR Forbes
I am someone who likes to read serials, sticking with characters I care about through a series of books. The War Eternal series is interesting, often exciting and suspenseful, and filled with characters that have some depth. I find that the story gets better ... with more depth and happenings on multiple fronts ... as it goes along. I am now reading the fourth installment, Point of Origin, and am loving it. The End of Liberty keeps things rolling after the first book, with more intrigue and suspense. It's a good read.My only issue with the series is with the fact that Mr. Forbes has let quite a few typos and grammatical errors remain in his writing. This can be easily solved by a good editor, or even by sending the books out to "typo hunters," which are fans who are willing to pre-read each book before release, and report to him any typos or confusing parts in the book. Still, the series is interesting, and I've stuck with it ... that says these issues aren't "horrible." I do recommend the War Eternal series.

The End of Liberty War Eternal Book 2 eBook MR Forbes Reviews
Military sci-fi that isn't just technology and space battles!? Who knew such a thing was possible?
This story has real people with raw emotions, flaws, sexuality, hope, despair, strength and weakness. And loss! So much loss, and finding a way forward through it all.
All that with a very interesting story, too.
I love it, and strongly recommend it. Great story.
Very solid writing -- unlike some other self-published SciFi that has available. The story has good pace with a well thought out plot. The characters are believable and likable. I've been reading SciFi for forty years and I put this author in the same class as a Heinlein or an Asimov for enjoyment factor. Thank you very much Mr. Forbes!
I have read many 100's of SF novels over 40 years. These books are too confusing in that you don't know who the bad guy is and why. Narrow escape after narrow combat escape after narrow combat escape. Some of the combat scenes are interesting but the law of averages killed them in the last book. The main character gets knifed in the gut several times, puts a bandage on it with a broken wrist and then runs back into combat and runs up 60 levels of stairs. Are they trying to insinuate he is a Tetron himself? The story seemed to be a dream or virtual reality. I read the first two books but will not bother to read the last.
M.R. Forbes has a winner on his hands, this is a good storyline with interesting characters and details. The End of Liberty takes up right where the first book left off, which was great, the first book, Starship Eternal, was a great book. The End of Liberty did not grip me like book one, but it was a good continuation that tied up a few questions and loose ends. Forbes' ability to tell a story and keep a reader's interest has me looking for book number three.
I would give this book 3-1/2 stars if I could, 4 might be misleading. Maybe not quite as good as the first but still an enjoyable read. Some parts are definitely better than others, and some parts were hard to tell who w as saying what. I still am not sure how an Admiral only command a a single ship so there may be a different perspective of the military rank structure? The flow is slow and possibly my biggest gripe or the story seems bogged down with too much going on, I'm not quite sure which it may be. Overall I will continue with the series as the minor flaws are tolerable while the story is a unique concept standing out on its own from so many other military sci-fi e-books flooding the market.
Takes up where Starship Eternal left off. People have outline the plot this is a battle against AI. But not a simple battle, but full of complex ideas and interesting characters. Can one man make a difference, with a small support team and enigmatic AIs both helping and hindering? It keeps you guessing and entertained. I look forward to the conclusion.
Try it, if you like SF and galactic wide engagements. Might help if you understand the Buddhist Wheel, too.
I am fairly new to this author and have been pleased with the previous books I have read. The End of Liberty is a fun and well paced ride in the War Eternal series. The protagonist is further developed and the story moves along at a pace that will have you turning the pages and wanting more. This book is well worth he investment of your time. I'm off to book 3 to see where we go from here. Cheers!
I love science fiction in general but I did not enjoy this story in particular. I gave it a three star rating, instead of two, because it was obvious that the author tried to write a great story. The premise is compelling, most of the characters are interesting, the editing is perfect. However, the story got really bogged down in character development. I had to force myself to read chapter after chapter of mundane dialogue. I didn't develop a real interest in the story until chapter 24. That's a long time for me. I actually closed the book and read two other, more exciting, novels in the interim.
